Your Basecamp for Adventure

Whether you choose to stay and enjoy the slow life on the farm or venture off for local attractions, there's always something interesting to do!

On the Farm

HomeGrown HideAways has hundred acres with endless opportunities to explore. Ask us about guided hikes and foraging walks. We also have local photographers we can recommend if you want to schedule a shoot during your stay. Interested in our geodes and fossils? We allow guests to take ONE souvenier rock per person per visit and can also schedule a visit from a local rockhounder to give your group a geology lesson.

Hiking Trail at HomeGrown HideAways Berea Ky

Hiking Trails: We have a steep and rugged 1.5 mile loop that goes up the mountain and brings you around and back down to the camp field. Hiking poles recommended. We also have several other trails within the property boundaries that vary in altitude and terrain.

Creek at HomeGrown HideAways Berea Ky

Creeks: We have TWO creeks on the farm. Near the main entrance is Floyd Branch where you can hunt for fossils, geodes, and agates (ONE souvenir per person please). The second creek starts from a spring near the top of the mountain.

Playground at HomeGrown HideAways Berea Ky

Playground: The greenspace next to the Pavilion has a tire swing, merry-go-round, and regular swings. There are also two disc-golf baskets in the field as well as several other yard games available including corn-hole, ladder ball, hula hoops, and croquet.

Garden at HomeGrown HideAways Berea Ky

Gardens: There are several garden plots scattered around the farm. We grow a variety of vegetables, garlic, blueberries, figs, mushrooms, and herbs. We also help to promote and propagate forest edible and medicinal forest plants. Ask us about U-pick and foraging!

Bonfire at HomeGrown HideAways Berea Ky

Campfires: Most sites have their own firepit with the exception of primitive camping. We have wood for sale onsite or you can gather dry/dead wood from the forest. Do not bring your own firewood as this can introduce invasive insects to the farm.

Library at HomeGrown HideAways Berea Ky

Library & Board Games: Sometimes the weather isn't conducive to being outdoors so our second-floor multi-purpose room in the Community Farmhouse is stocked with an assortment of books and games. Please do not leave children unattended.

Other Stuff

We're obviously a bit partial to outdoor adventures, but here are some our other favorite things to highlight

But Wait - There's More!

Instead of re-inventing the wheel and listing all the cool arts & crafts, antique shops, demonstrations & workshops, places to eat, and the absolutely insane number of activities that take place in Berea, we're just gonna suggest you head on over to the Berea Tourism website.

Be sure to check out the Events Calendar to see what's happening while you stay with us!

Richmond Tourism made an AMAAAZING guide about the area. Find the guide here.

PS - sorry there aren't a bunch of pretty logo icons for all our friends. We'd rather be building treehouses than websites so this will have to do. 😉
